The first guided tour app of Beatles locations is released on the App store for the Apple iPhone® this month. Fully digital and downloadable, it celebrates the 40th anniversary this November of the band’s Abbey Road LP topping both UK and US album charts. Beatles Walk London includes 16 key Fab Four locations from Abbey Road’s zebra crossing to the Savile Row rooftop.

Incorporating maps, written content and pictures, the app has been created by designers Clay Interactive with writers David Roberts and Martin Downham and is available for download at a price of 59p.

The app can operate independently as an informative look at London’s Beatle locations or enjoyed as a walking tour guide with easy to follow instructions street by street.

The app is the first of a series of literary and pop walks to be launched soon.

For Madison Avenue, Facebook just got a little less free.
Last week, the massive social network announced that brands, advertisers, and marketers that want to run contests or sweepstakes on its platform have to go through an approval process first.
Getting that approval could be a new revenue stream for Facebook: according to multiple sources in the marketing industry, they're being told that running a promotion in a Facebook application or "fan page" requires buying ad space too.
It's pricey. The minimum ad buy is $10,000 for 30 days, using Facebook's self-service advertising system, according to documents seen by CNET, or $30,000 for 30 days of Facebook home page ads. Priority in the approval process will be scaled, based on how much advertising space has been purchased. It's a move that one marketing industry professional called, in perhaps a bit of hyperbole, "a little Death Star-ish."

Компания Microsoft отключила от сервиса Xbox Live более 600 000 владельцев Xbox 360. Сделано это только в отношении владельцев приставок, нарушивших пользовательское соглашение.

Microsoft начала отключать геймеров от сервиса Xbox Live. Как сообщает BBC, более 600 тысяч геймеров сегодня обнаружили, что их аккаунт заблокирован. Одна из причин блокировки аккаунта — перепрошивка консолей, позволяющая запускать на устройствах пиратские игры.

Microsoft сообщает о том, что отключена малая часть из более чем 20 миллионов аккаунтов сервиса. Отключены аккаунты геймеров, которые модифицировали прошивки своих консолей. После подобной операции приставка позволяет запускать как игры и программы, не распространяемые официально Microsoft, так и пиратские версии игр.

Компания Blizzard Entertainment решила не выпускать игру Diablo III в 2010 году, сообщает IGN.
